TrailBlazers Hall of Fame Nomination Process

The nomination process:

Trailblazers come from the ranks of motorcycle pioneers in the Southern California region. When someone is nominated to be into the TrailBlazers Hall of Fame, we take a close look at their history and special contributions.

The Hall of Fame Committee works hard to keep the Hall of Fame process prestigious and filled with integrity. We are proud of each and every member. We are honored to be able to recognize them through our TrailBlazers Hall of Fame.

Step One: You nominate

The first step in the nomination process is for the Nominator to provide the Committee with a complete packet or resume and if at all possible the packet should include photographs, articles, special awards etc. Send your nomination to:

Trailblazers

Irma Vils

4208 Tulane Ave.

Long Beach CA 90808

or E mail to: Hall of Fame nominations

The Committee will review the information for completeness and accept or reject the nomination. Currently the only reason to reject a nomination is the lack of information provided to the committee. In such cases the packet will be returned to the person nominating with a request for more information. Your board members are quite aware that this can be a challenging task for some, and therefore have helped several prepare acceptable nomination packets. This information is a tremendous help to us when trying to decide who should be selected to the TrailBlazers Hall of Fame.

Step Two: The Board decides

The second step of the process is when the accepted nominations are reviewed and voted on by the board of directors for the year. In the interest of keeping the HOF prestigious, we must limit the number of inductee’s for each year. Further, the board then does its best to present each inductee’s background, along with photos at our annual banquet.

Once a nomination has been accepted, that nomination will remain active for five years or until the person is inducted. After five years if the person nominated is not inducted, a new nomination packet must be submitted to the committee.

At the Annual TrailBlazer Banquet, nomination packets will be on display. We encourage you to take a look at these examples. If you should decide to nominate someone, your first step in the process will be well prepared. Again, if you need help preparing a packet, contact one of your board members.
